The living room sits between two common bedrooms in this atypical 4-room HDB BTO. The unconventional layout becomes a canvas for bold, intuitive design. Rather than conforming, the designer reimagines the home through intentional zoning, crafting distinct experiences across two private domains.

The first zone is a guest suite, tucked behind a concealed door that flows seamlessly from the custom TV feature wall. Situated beside the household shelter, this reconfigured common bedroom becomes a private enclave that’s perfect for visitors or a quiet retreat, discreetly hidden yet entirely integrated.

The heart of the transformation lies in the primary zone, where a luxurious suite was created by merging the master bedroom with the adjacent common room. Inspired by the refined calm of an Andaz-style hotel, the space unfolds into a private retreat complete with a walk-in wardrobe, restful lounge, and compact study. Warm tonal textures and clean-lined finishes bring a sense of quiet sophistication, while a lightweight sliding door defines the study without enclosing it and allowing the space to breathe. Marking the entrance, a black-framed glass door paired with a sculptural wall sconce offers a subtle yet striking threshold — drawing natural light deeper into the interior and setting the tone for a suite designed to soothe and impress in equal measure.

In Zoned, the design doesn’t fight the layout but amplifies it. Each area is purposefully defined, yet visually and emotionally connected. It’s home, but with the thoughtful layering of a boutique hotel, where every space tells its own story, yet feels like part of something whole.
