It was a delight to work with Joleen at Fifth Avenue. We wanted to work with her because we saw her work and really liked her eye- understated elegance and texture and muted colours. Joleen was very respectful about our preferences even though she was clearly the expert in this field and always found a way to include our voices in her designs. We could always count on her to address any doubts or questions we had and she was very patient with us, even going beyond to help us purchase some items online. Joleen is very experienced and could spot some issues before they became problematic and knew how to deal with the hiccips that emerged. We would certainly recommend her to anyone who is looking for an ID who has a keen eye, know the technicalities and complex details of creating a space and who is very easy to work with. We loved how our place turned out! So thankful to have had Vina as our ID, and we can’t mention it quite enough. She transformed our newly purchased resale flat into a home we could initially only imagine. The entire space came to life with an aesthetic that feels cohesive, harmonious, and perfectly aligned with our design aspirations. We love how her design touches, from lighting recommendations to finishes, elevated the tone, texture, and style of the space.

It was a challenging project as the flat was old, dating back to the 1990s. We appreciated being kept well-informed and advised throughout the whole renovation journey. What set Vina apart for us was her meticulous attention to detail, along with her consistent and proactive updates and responses. At times, we had to pivot and explore alternatives due to the limitations of the flat, but we could trust her to provide problem-solving and creative solutions that maintained both quality and vision. Most importantly, Vina always considered both form and functionality in the design of our home. As detailed as ever, we continue to be delighted with her follow-up post-renovation, whether for retouches, modifications or rectifications. She goes above and beyond, leaving a lasting impression on us as customers.

Another special mention is the stunning carpentry work! Significant carpentry was done in our living room and kitchen space, and we absolutely love the results. The workmanship is excellent and has drawn many compliments from our guests.

As first time home owners doing renovation, we are really thankful for engaging Myron from Fifth Avenue Interiors as our ID. While we had a general idea of the theme and design we wanted, it changed over time and Myron was always patiently accommodating our requests and ideas.

Throughout the whole design process, Myron came up with many good ideas that we had never even thought of. His attention to detail and eye for aesthetics ended up making a huge difference in how the final outcome turned out. There were many times when we were stuck choosing between tiles/laminates etc but Myron was always able to give recommendations that ended up tying very nicely together.

During the renovation process, Myron was always dependable if we had any issues or clarifications. To be honest we gave him quite a tough timeline as our key collection was delayed from Covid but he managed to complete efficiently and with top workmanship also. There were many occasions that he went above and beyond what we expected, and we’re very happy with the final outcome and had a very good experience working with him.

If any of my friends or family ever need recommendations for IDs, I’ll definitely recommend him knowing they’ll be in good hands as he is easy to vibe with, has an eye for design, hardworking, reliable and honest. Apart from him being a great ID, his team is also very good and professional. Especially his carpentry and electrical team (which we did extensive works on) were very helpful and quality of work second to none.

Our renovation journey would not have been so smooth if not for Gwen Chong, our ID from Fifth Avenue. It was her creativity that made us go with Fifth Avenue. Her design elements were more evident when they were finally translated to actual works. She was also super patient, responsive and she has the ability to reconcile the differences between myself and my wife.

We engaged 5th Avenue as one of the five interior design firms we considered for our 5-room BTO project, and Jay was assigned to us. What set him apart from the rest was his design expertise. He is not just a contract manager replicating past projects, Jay brings fresh, practical design solutions tailored to each space. Jay impressed us with his ability to conceptualize solutions quickly while continuously refining his ideas. He never settles for “good enough” and consistently explores ways to enhance his already outstanding designs. From the start, he understood the aesthetic we were aiming for and seamlessly applied those design principles throughout the process, incorporating our feedback with an open mind.

During the renovation, Jay provided regular updates and proactively sought our input whenever potential issues arose, rather than making unilateral decisions that could have compromised the outcome. His meticulous approach ensured that every phase of the renovation was executed flawlessly before moving on to the next. Beyond just following the plan, Jay went the extra mile to perfect every detail, demonstrating true finesse in execution. He even proposed thoughtful improvements to our initial ideas, showing his dedication to create the best possible design. It has been almost a year since we started this renovation journey with Kit, and looking back, we’re so grateful to have had her by our side.

Our story began 15 months before we even got our keys. Kit was the very first ID we met, and at that time, we didn’t know what we wanted or where to start. Over the next few months, we met with six or seven other designers, but something kept bringing us back to her. Kit stood out because she wasn’t just about pushing her own ideas—she listened. She was open to our thoughts, our concerns, and the little details that mattered to us. And that made all the difference.

From there, it was many, many rounds of discussions, changes, and adjustments. We must have changed our minds a dozen times, but Kit never made us feel like we were a burden. Instead, she adapted, tweaked, and refined the design to fit not just our aesthetic but also our lifestyle. Even when unexpected challenges popped up during the renovation (as they always do), she took everything in stride, kept things on schedule, and made sure everything stayed on track.

One thing we truly appreciated was her responsiveness. Renovating a home can be stressful, but Kit always replied quickly, answered our endless questions, and reassured us when we had doubts. She also recommended reliable vendors but never pressured us—always giving us the freedom to explore other options if we preferred.

Now that we’re finally at the finish line, we just want to say: Thank you, Kit. Thank you for your patience, for your professionalism, and for making this entire process smooth and enjoyable. Our home wouldn’t be what it is without you.

At the start, there were a few hiccups in aligning our ideas, and it took some time for us to get on the same page regarding the overall vision. Several ideas we had in mind also didn’t translate into the mock-ups generated for us (e.g., grey walls and marble though the theme was more white/wood/stone).

Nonetheless, we trusted the process and pushed on, and thankfully things started to take shape when we picked our tiles furniture and vinyl. There were several more hiccups along the way e.g., when our kitchen tiles were not level with the vinyl flooring, causing our floor to be uneven. Thankfully, these hiccups were eventually resolved without significant delay to the timeline.

Carissa’s input was helpful in our decision making processes, and she had a good grasp of the renovation process. She was also very responsive throughout the project period, even on weekends, which we appreciated! The quality of the carpentry also exceeded our expectations. Overall, our vision eventually materialised and we are very pleased with the final look of our house!

Like many homeowners, my wife and I were overwhelmed by the number of interior designers out there. We’re incredibly grateful to have met Darren—he stood out right from the start by ticking all the boxes, from creative concept to practical design, always mindful of technical limitations. Although he was the first ID we met, we spoke to five others before ultimately returning to him—and we’re so glad we did. The entire renovation journey was nothing short of fantastic.
